Our Position
DCUC supports a proposed amendment that would help remove many of the constraints and barriers the Department of Defense has recently placed on credit unions, which would help lead to actual proficiency in financial literacy efforts on base and improve the financial readiness of our nation’s servicemembers.
Background
Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) submitted an amendment intended to be proposed to the NDAA bill (S. 2226) to improve financial literacy training efforts on base and improve the financial readiness of our nation’s servicemembers.
The amendment was not added to the National Defense Authorization Act of 2024.
