MIAMI, FL – The Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC), represented by its Chief Advocacy Officer, Jason Stverak, is proud to attend the American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL) 2024 Winter Conference held in Miami, Florida. This annual event fosters collaboration among credit union leagues and industry advocates to advance the shared mission of supporting credit unions nationwide. DCUC recognizes the importance of connecting with league presidents and leaders dedicated to serving the unique needs of credit unions. "Advocacy isn’t confined to our Nation’s capital—it happens in statehouses across the country. Our collaboration with credit union leagues is essential to addressing issues and advancing policies directly impacting credit unions,” said Stverak. “It’s an honor to represent DCUC here, where we can grow our relationships, strategize, and plan for the future. The discussions at this conference reaffirm the shared commitment of this industry’s leaders to proactive, impactful advocacy at both state and federal levels. I’m looking forward to the general session tomorrow and the continued dialogue on how to grow and strengthen the credit union movement."
The conference’s general session will feature a formal welcome from AACUL, provided by Samantha Beeler, President of LSCU & Affiliates, followed by discussions on a range of topics, including the post-election outlook for credit union advocacy, strategies for navigating the interchange landscape, the future of grassroots advocacy through data and technology, enhancing credit unions’ presence on Capitol Hill, and the implications of AI and open banking for credit unions. “The leagues play a pivotal role in protecting and supporting our credit union members, and DCUC greatly values the relationships we’ve built within the league system,” said Anthony Hernandez, DCUC President/CEO. “Keeping our lines of communication strong is vital because we’re a stronger industry when we work together.” Comments are closed.
