WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Defense Credit Union Council, DCUC, sent a letter to House Financial Services Committee leaders ahead of tomorrow’s hearing on deposit insurance, expressing concern that no credit union representative was included on the witness panel.  ​

​The Defense Credit Union Council, DCUC, applauds the U.S. House of Representatives for passing bipartisan legislation to reopen the federal government and restore pay certainty for America’s service members, Coast Guard, and federal employees.

​WASHINGTON, DC – The Defense Credit Union Council, DCUC, has joined leading financial trade associations in issuing a joint statement welcoming the bipartisan agreement to end the federal government shutdown. The statement shares the importance of restoring stability for federal employees, service members, and their families, as well as ensuring continuity across the financial system.

The Defense Credit Union Council, DCUC, has engaged the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of General Counsel on the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act, calling for balanced, inclusive regulation that allows credit unions to participate in the evolving digital financial system safely. Today, the Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) wrote to Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director Bill Pulte on the agency’s proposed Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2026–2030, requesting a commitment to reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens under its goal of supervising the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLBank) System.
