One year ago, I was blessed to join the Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) as your Chief Advocacy Officer. I want to sincerely thank each of you for entrusting me to work on your behalf over the past year. Advocacy is more than a job to me—it allows the priorities of millions of credit union members to be heard in Washington and across the country, and it is truly humbling to do so on behalf of our veterans, service members, and their families. Every day, I am grateful for the chance to fight for policies that help you serve your members better, and I remain inspired by the dedication of our defense credit unions to “serve those who serve our country.”
As I compose this month’s CEO Update, the industry is on the verge of defeating its greatest threat in 27 years. I am very proud of the work DCUC has done in terms of leading the industry’s advocacy strategy since last summer and bringing many organizations together with the sole purpose of winning this fight together. It has been a long campaign featuring late nights, early mornings, and working over several weekends to achieve great things.
