Global Credit Union Marks 50 Years on Avaino Air Base, Italy

Aviano Air Base, Italy. On October 5, 2019, the 31st Fighter Wing hosted the 25th Anniversary of the 31st FW Celebratory Banquet at Aviano Air Base, Italy. Global Credit Union was honored to participate in the celebration, marking 50 years of providing financial services to Aviano Air Base.
Global Credit Union opened a branch at Aviano Air Base in May 1969, after Global was chosen from 12 qualified applicants to establish branches on overseas U.S. Military Installations. Global has been a presence on the Air Base with a physical branch as well as a supporter and sponsor of many events benefiting military families living on the Air Base. Global was honored in 1996 with the designation of Best Credit Union Servicing the Air Force.

Members of Global's Management team and the Aviano branch manager (pictured above) along with their spouses attended the event to commemorate the years of partnership between Global and Aviano Air Base.
Over the past 25 years, the wing has conducted countless missions and combat operations in areas such as Bosnia, Serbia, Kosovo, Kuwait, Iraq and Libya in support of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
