WASHINGTON, DC, September 4, 2019 – On August 20, DCUC’s 56th Annual Conference attendees joined together to celebrate the induction of three special individuals to the DCUC Hall of Honor.
Bobby Alexander, Chairman of the Board, Alaska USA Federal Credit Union, was selected for his 36 years of steadfast dedication to improving both the credit union industry and the lives of military personnel everywhere. Alexander is well respected in the credit union and military communities for supporting soldiers and has achieved this through his various volunteer commitments. He understands the needs of service members and their families because for more than 30 years he served in the United States Army including two tours in Vietnam with the 5th Special Forces group. Alexander is a trusted resource for the credit union’s senior leadership on military related issues and his commitment to those who have served resonates clearly when he speaks about an issue.
The council recognized Thomas Pauley, Chairman of the Board, Global Credit Union, for his dedication to all causes supporting service members, veterans, and their families. He retired from the United States Air Force and became a passionate volunteer for our military members for more than 29 years. His volunteer service to our military members is without parallel and his unwavering advocacy for all credit union members is exemplary of true servant-leadership. Pauley has tenaciously ensured that Global CU’s board constantly remains faithful to the military origins of Global CU while exploring innovative technical advancements that allow Global CU to provide its uniformed members the world-class service they deserve irrespective of their location or deployment status.
VADM John Lockard, Chairman of the Board, Navy Federal Credit Union, was recognized for his unwavering commitment to developing products and services specifically designed to meet the financial services needs of military members and their families. He has exhibited exceptional leadership throughout his more than 28 years of service to Navy Federal Credit Union and is the longest serving chairman in the 86-year history of the credit union. Despite Navy Federal’s extraordinary growth, under VADM Lockard’s leadership, Navy federal steadfastly maintained its focus on the core members of its field of membership – the active duty men and women of the Department of Defense and their families. He has continued to foster and champion the not-for-profit credit union culture with a keen focus on serving members and taking card of team members.
