2018 Distinguished Credit Union of the Year Award Nominations Now Open

AIR FORCE

Annually, the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Financial Management and Comptroller) recognizes the on-base financial institutions (bank and credit union) that provided exceptional service to our Air Force community during the preceding calendar year. These awards are based on recommendations submitted by installation commanders.

Nominations for credit unions will be accepted in two separate sub-categories:  those
institutions with total assets of $1B and above and those with less than $1B. Installations can submit a single nomination within each applicable category. Each package must contain a nomination letter from the installation commander, the formal nomination form and copy of the current operating agreement.

NAVY

The Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Financial Management and Comptroller) recognizes on-base financial institutions that provided extraordinary service, comply with reference (a), and support commands and their personnel. This recognition is based on recommendations submitted by IC.

One large credit union (total assets exceed $1 billion dollars) and one small credit union award will be given. Winning financial institutions will be presented a plaque at the Defense Credit Union Council Annual Conference. Should there only be one financial institution nominated in a category, that financial institution will receive the award.

Nominations must be submitted by email no later than close of business
March 18, 2019 to Dean Hunstad at dean.hunstad@navy.mil and Kristina Corkery at kristina.corkery@navy.mil.

ARMY

United States Army Financial Management Command is requesting nominations for the Army’s 2018 Distinguished Bank and Credit Union Service Awards. Since  1984, commanders have nominated their installation banks and credit unions on an annual basis. These awards recognize the on-post credit union branches that have provided exceptional financial service and support to their communities.

Submit award nominations for calendar year 2018 in accordance with the attached criteria. Prepare nominations in the format provided with an endorsement memorandum from the installation commander. Financial institutions on joint installations primarily serving Army personnel are eligible for consideration. Please email completed nomination packets to the Department of the Army Banking Officer, CPT Jennifer C. Evans at jennifer.c.evans.mil@mail.mil by 31 March 2019 to receive consideration.

The awards will be presented in August 2019 at the annual conference hosted by the the Defense Credit Union Council.
