NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – (December 2018) – Langley Federal Credit Union (LFCU), headquartered in Newport News, opened its third Virginia Beach branch in Town Center. The new branch, located at 4625 Virginia Beach Blvd, Suite 107, is the seventh Southside location and the 21st in the region. Other Virginia Beach locations include Hilltop and Sandbridge.
As part of the grand opening, Langley Federal Credit Union has partnered with Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD), a multi-specialty health system offering comprehensive pediatric care for children from birth to age 21. For every new member who joins the credit union at the Town Center branch, LFCU will make a $100 donation (up to $4,000) to the expansion of CHKD’s mental health program. CHKD currently receives 15 to 20 mental health referrals each day from primary and specialty healthcare providers, and another three to five children arrive in the CHKD emergency department daily seeking crisis care for mental health disorders. The expansion will add 12 mental health beds in the current hospital within two years and a new mental health facility in four years.
“Not only do we offer outstanding products and services to our members, we want to be an integral part of the community,” said Senior Vice President Deb Vollmer. “We continually look for ways to help by donating and volunteering our time and services to worthwhile organizations like CHKD.”
The Town Center branch will provide full financial services to members. LFCU offers personal and business banking, mortgages, auto, RV and boat loans, student loans, insurance, investment services, credit cards, merchant services and online banking.
Branch Manager Bradley Jeske will lead the Town Center team. He has more than 15 years of financial experience and has lived in Virginia Beach for more than seven years. “I look forward to my new role in Town Center and helping our members’ reach their financial goals,” said Jeske. “And, it’s easy to open an account with as little as $5.”
Vilma Corbin, the assistant branch manager, will partner with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Coastal Virginia and introduce Langley Federal Credit Union products and services to the Hispanic community. She will also be very active in the community attending Hispanic events and visiting Hispanic-owned businesses.
The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce recently introduced LFCU leadership to the area by hosting a Chamber member reception at the new Town Center location. Over 50 local business leaders were in attendance.
