Pearl Hawaii’s Vice President Receives DoD’s Patriotic Employer Award

HONOLULU, HI (September 2018) — John Furtado, Vice President of Electronic Services of Pearl Hawaii Federal Credit Union was recently presented with a U.S. Department of Defense Patriotic Employer Award in recognition of his extraordinary support for his employee serving in the United States Army Reserve.
The Patriot Award and Statement of Support were humbly appreciated. Furtado said with great humility, “The work associated with the award was and continues to be a team effort. Even now, our staff is preparing care packages to send.”
Furtado was nominated for being highly supportive of the Army Reserve by Spc. Chandra Lee. Furtado helped Lee manage her personal and professional life while understanding the challenges military families often face.
The award was presented by Alexander Kozlov on behalf of The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a committee of the U.S. Department of Defense.
