We’ve updated our on-demand virtual library to reflect the addition of our newest Direct- to-Servicemember and Veteran production, “Resources and Tips for Dealing with Debt Collection”.  Your assistance in helping us distribute this information to servicemembers and veterans is requested.

About our featured topic:

Servicemembers, veterans and military families have submitted thousands of debt collection complaints to the CFPB since we began accepting them in July 2013 – our fastest-growing, and consistently largest, category of complaints.

We’ve received reports that some debt collectors are threatening servicemembers by claiming that they will report the past-due debt to their commanding officer, have the servicemember busted in rank or even have their security clearance revoked if they don’t pay up.

This production provides tips and information about ways to communicate with debt collectors.  We also show you resources from the CFPB that you can use in dealing with debt collectors.

Note:  The event is the first virtual event listed.  Click on: "LAUNCH WEBCAST"

If your video player is blank or displays a puzzle piece icon, simply right click and select:  "run this plug-in" to start the presentation.

The production will remain available in our virtual library for servicemembers to watch, as their busy schedule permits.  We encourage you to use this virtual production as a stand-alone training topic for your next financial education event.

Thank you for reading,
