ABNB Federal Credit Union’s 14th Annual Fishing Fest Raises Thousands

Chesapeake, VA | July 12, 2017:  ABNB Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that its 14th Annual Fishing Fest, held on Friday, June 23, has raised over $65,000 to date for the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD)!

More than 100 participants attended this year’s Fishing Fest, gathering at Rudee Inlet for a half day of fishing on the Chesapeake Bay and lunch provided by Mobile Pig-Nic. Radio personalities from local radio stations such as Z104, 95-7 R&B, and 101.3 2WD were in attendance; including Dale Murray of 95-7 R&B, Slightly of Z104, and Devin of 101.3 2WD. This year, radio and ABNB teams worked to raise additional funds digitally from the event’s chartered boats via the first ever Facebook Live-athon.

After 14 years of hosting Fishing Fest, ABNB has raised over $700,000 for CHKD.  “ABNB’s 14th Annual Fishing Fest was once again the catch of the day!” said Chris Anuswith, Vice President of Risk Management and 2017 Fishing Fest Chairman. “It was all made possible by our vendor sponsors, members, friends, and the wonderful staff of ABNB. My personal highlight was spending the day with our CHKD Champion Child, Julian, and helping him catch 33 fish on his first fishing trip ever. Thank you to everyone who over the years has helped ABNB raise over $700,000 for CHKD.”
