Fort Knox Federal, Radcliff Sponsor

Scotty McCreery in Summer Blast Concert

RADCLIFF, KY – July 6, 2017     “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery lit up the stage during the Fourth of July weekend Summer Blast concert finale held outside Radcliff City Hall.

This was the second year for the free Summer Blast concert sponsored by the City of Radcliff and Fort Knox Federal Credit Union.  “We were happy to have Fort Knox Federal back as a major sponsor,” said J.J. Duvall, economic development, planning and building director.

Music fans from across central Kentucky turned out for the concert.  Susan Holland of Louisville made a return visit after attending the 2016 show with headliners Maddie & Tae.  “I wanted to come again this year because it was family friendly, we enjoyed it,” Holland said.

While the concert was free, there were about 200 preferred seats that were packed, according to Duvall.  Preferred seat tickets were $30 each and help offset the cost of the concert.

Other fans, like Tyler Hall and Dylan Mahanna were excited to hear McCreery in concert.  The American Idol winner’s “I Love You This Big” is one of Hall’s favorite songs. Hall has been a fan of country music for a long time, he said, and a free concert was a bonus.

“As the primary concert series sponsor, Fort Knox Federal is delighted to help bring such an outstanding national performer to our community,” said President and CEO of Fort Knox Federal Credit Union, Ray Springsteen.

After McCreery’s performance on Saturday, the evening ended with a fireworks show in honor of the Fourth of July.

Fort Knox Federal Credit Union is a private, not-for-profit financial services cooperative and is insured by NCUA for individual deposits up to $250,000 per account.  Fort Knox Federal has approximately $1.4 billion in assets currently and serves more than 95,000 members from 16 branches throughout central Kentucky.  The latest branch is under construction in Bowling Green and will open in 2017.
