Matt Alexander, Supervisory Committee Member, Named to 2018 Liberty Fellowship Class


(N. CHARLESTON, S.C.)—January 24, 2017 — South Carolina Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce, Supervisory Committee member, Matt Alexander’s designation as a Class of 2018 Liberty Fellow.

The Liberty Fellowship class is comprised of 21 individuals, selected from across industries and regions, each exhibiting an understanding of the challenges facing our state and the leadership skills necessary to initiate dialogue, exploration and take action for the good of South Carolina.

During the 18 month experience, Fellows reflect on what makes a just society, thereby deepening knowledge, broadening perspectives and enhancing their ability to tackle issues for future growth and success.

Alexander offered, "I’m honored to have been chosen and excited to learn and serve alongside such a wonderful group of people."

Alexander has been a member of South Carolina Federal’s Supervisory Committee since 2014. The committee provides assurance that credit union policies, procedures and systems of internal control are adequately designed and functioning to safeguard member assets.

In his capacity, Alexander monitors the quality of the credit union’s finances and evaluates actions and decisions of the Board of Directors to guarantee competence and timeliness.

Alexander is the co-founder of OneWorld Health, which opened its first comprehensive medial campus in Masindi, Uganda in 2011. He received an M.B.A. in International Business from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and a B.A. in Religion from Charleston Southern University.
