The Defense Credit Union Council is proud to announce that Christopher J. Cosby, Sr., has been appointed to the new position of Senior Vice President of Operations. In this role Chris will be responsible for ensuring DCUC’s overall operational effectiveness and the Council’s continued growth as the principal trade association exclusively supporting the interest of credit unions operating on Department of Defense installations worldwide.

Chris is currently on active duty with the UnitedStates Army and serves as the first nominative Command Sergeant Major (CSM) of United States Financial Management Command (USAFMCOM) Indianapolis, Indiana. He will transition to his new position as Senior Vice President of Operations in October 2017.

“Given CSM Cosby’s 32-year career in the U.S. Army Financial Management profession, plus his extensive command, leadership, and management experience, CSM Cosby is extremely well-qualified to fill the Senior Vice President of Operations position and will undoubtedly add great value to the Council and its members,” said Tony Hernandez, DCUC’s President and CEO. “His passion to meet Service Member’s needs coupled with his sustainment, operational, organizational, finance and management skills will serve us very well in the years ahead as we continue to enhance the Council’s effectiveness.”

“CSM Cosby represents the very best of the enlisted corps, an area of the military that DCUC is excited to further develop in terms of messaging and outreach. More than eighty percent of our Nation’s service-members are enlisted. Given Chris’ experience as an enlisted leader, DCUC will be more capable to make sure their needs and voices are heard and that the great work Defense Credit Unions do every day on their behalf is recognized,” continued Hernandez.

“It is an honor to be selected to Serve those who Serve our Country by endeavoring in this position with such a prestigious organization. I have always envisioned being an advocate for our Service Members after transitioning from the military. I could not think of a better organization to partner with to accomplish this!” said Cosby.

Chris is married to the former Alisa Wren, and together they have seven children.
